Summary

Stephen Miller’s legal group, America First Legal Foundation, sent letters warning officials in sanctuary jurisdictions of potential “serious consequences,” including civil racketeering charges and prison time, for defying federal immigration laws.

The letters target 249 officials in areas restricting cooperation with ICE, such as San Diego County.

While courts have previously rejected similar anti-sanctuary efforts, the move signals aggressive immigration enforcement plans under Trump’s incoming administration.

Critics argue the threats highlight a broader strategy to intimidate and enforce mass deportation policies.

Well that’s infuriating. So these people wanna lock up our elected representatives, then complain when we don’t wanna serve them at restaurants.

I’m sure they have zero worries about going to prison.

I’m not sure they have zero worries about being adjusted.

to me, a non American, it reads just how America is was and will be.

Americans love guns and extra judicial killings. Their top cultural hits are about cops who break laws, or good men who are driven to kill. Breaking Bad, The Wire, The Sopranos, Westerns, cyberpunk, buddy cop movies, Die Hard…

As we like to say here in Ummerica: All hat no cattle.

People love violence and extra judicial killings “in the name of justice” as long as it’s on TV or the internet and they are nice and safe at home. Guns? Yeah, fun to go pew pew in the backyard or parade around with. But actually get involved or do something like stand up to an authoritarian government? “Ha ha no thanks you first.”

How very brave of y’all to downvote. Undoubtedly you are all organizing your state militias as we speak.

Hey dipshit the term state militias implies that they are organized by the states themselves rather than being organized by random folks, I wouldve used the term civil militia or maybe free militia if I meant the latter.

No doubt you will be first to sign up for said militia. Being so brave 'n all.

When these cities literally enact a policy of obstructing justice, their officials can and should be prosecuted.

Federal laws you don’t like don’t just become optional because you say so, and entering a country illegally or overstaying a visa is a crime under federal law. This isn’t something unique to the US where the US government is literally Hitler; it’s a well established international norm.

Miller’s reasons for supporting this are the wrong ones, but he says isn’t necessarily incorrect under federal law as it stands. Not to mention that supporting brazen violations of the law like this is part of the reason why Democrats have alienated ordinary voters and let the far right basically take over.

Only in the US is illegal immigration such an issue. Go to any country on Earth, try and live their ILLEGALLY, and see how long you last. But not here in the good old USA… the LEFT is doing anything and everything to just “allow” anyone to live here, no matter how they got here.
