Originally, I was looking into pursuing a TEFL certificate so that I could be able to work abroad and it would put me on the path to a better life than I would have in America. However, after some research, it seems that a being a TEFL doesn’t pay well and I’m really unsure if I want to teach. I was wondering if there are any other jobs/careers that allow you to work abroad besides a TEFL?
Have you looked into nomad visas and a remote job?
I have but it’s so difficult to find a remote job or any job really. I am trying to grow my skillset though so hopefully I can find something else.

Some countries have a working vacation type of visa, but most of the jobs you’d get with that arent going to pay super well and are intended on covering your living expenses while travelling.

If you’re intending on immigrating, many countries have pathways for taking higher education and getting permanent residency & a career after you graduate.
There’s also specific industries that countries may give you a work visa and a pathway to immigrate (e.g British Columbia, Canada is trying to acquire healthcare workers from the US).
Edit: There is also the option of remote work, however I think many companies are moving away from this as times change.
I was thinking about going back to school, but I am still pretty drained going through the first time. I know that many countries have a list of careers or skills that they are looking for and some of the skills I could qualify for, but then it goes back to finding a job and it’s just really frustrating. However, that could be my best bet, so I’ll look into it again.
Do you have skills? We all do in some way. What are yours?
I mainly have writing, customer service, and some coding skills. I am currently in a program that deals with finance that I am hoping will open new career paths that could also help me with finding a job abroad. Also looking into some graphic design.
My goodness. Are you me?
Have you considered starting a business?
I own one. Multi skilled is helpful there.
I believe Australia has business visas. Where you have to start a business and you have X time to make Y money. I’m light on details, but it might be worth a look
What kind of skills do you have? If you like children you can get work as a nanny. There are also a lot of woffing jobs available.
