Commenting on my own comment, my first inclination was to say “keep the train rolling with rail” but realized that’s confusing. Immediately after hitting post I thought of a better way to keep the pun and clarity.

They can hold onto Carney for a little while. I think he’s done a decent enough job of convincing other countries to work with us. Maybe if he fucks off to the US for a while we can slow or reverse the environmental rollbacks he’s been implementing while the dust is settling. Keep rail development going though.

It’s crazy to think of all the possibilities. I won’t have any less desire to do my job than I currently do, maybe even more because the other external parties we interact will also have their profit motives reduced or eliminated.
I’m fortunate I work in a career that’s partially aligned with my passions and interests. It’s also a privately owned company where the owner I work closest with makes decisions by asking the staff “will this make things better for our customers?” Followed by “will we make a little bit of profit?” which I interpret as can we keep the business running and make sure we can take care of our employees and colleagues? If we answer yes to those we’re running the projects we pitch him. He cares about the right things, not making more money for himself.
I did the same. Not a fan of how loud and chaotic he runs his stream with popup graphics, sound effects, chat roll etc. but that’s fine not everything needs to be to my taste. From what I saw he seems to use a bunch of sarcastic and inflammatory comments to make his points which opens him to being clipped out of context. Kind of fits into the “you’re not wrong, you’re just being an ass” category to me which I also think is fine. Even the whole 9/11 comment thing is understandable. I feel like it’s widely accepted that 9/11 was a consequence of the US’s worldwide aggression and heavy handedness with Piker’s comments reflecting that sentiment in an insensitive way. How many Iranians do you think are out for blood after having a girls school blown up let alone all the other shit going on?
