  • Oh, so it does get more than 40 FPS while emulating it on the Deck, that is good to hear, I do get higher FPS (closer to 60 FPS) in my original Switch 1 overclocked in BOTW (I heard it is not very different with TOTK), and I don’t get to do the quirks and workarounds that comes with emulation (I do it with the hack itself lol) because well, the game runs natively.

The battery backup you get is definitely better than mine undocked though (although when I do this I play docked), so it is good to hear Switch 1 games aren’t that demanding then.

  • They can play by play all the they want but at the end of the day. I can play games I brought back in 1997 on my steam deck they can barely handle going back one generation to the switch and have to use emulation and a subscription service for a handful of their older systems.

I get your point, but to be honest Nintendo couldn’t care less about making it easy or cheap for us to play 1997 games, it doesn’t happen now, and I don’t think it will ever happen, the only reason why they gave some efforts to make Switch 1 games retrocompatible I think is because it would be riots if they didn’t lol.

It is a good argument, but companies don’t care about this, which is sad.

  • Is this using a PC? Maybe I would.

If this is from a smartphone… I wouldn’t I guess… I often prefer to retype than dealing with the select text feature… It seems I get the same experience in the most recent mobile OS that I had when I used my iPod Touch 4G a lot of years ago, why does it feel that this feature hasn’t even evolved? I can’t be the only one that feels it is terrible to use, I prefer to use the keyboard gestures than dealing with it.

Well, since lemmy.ml is the most updated Lemmy instance (it should be shouldn’t it?) I assume you should be facing the same issues as most of us.

For me I stopped using it since it stopped marking as read while scrolling the posts, also it kinda broke upvotes and downvotes but I think I got that fixed modifying some toggle in the Lemmy website…

I can’t remember many other instance issues for Sync as of now as I pretty much leave after the 1st one I mentioned.

I wanted to keep using Sync for Reddit and or Boost for Reddit, both clients were built for Lemmy now (as of this message Sync is quite broken though).

Even when I can keep using Sync for Reddit patched with Revanced I truly enjoy using clients such as Voyager (I missed Apollo a lot when I went from iOS to Android) and Summit, Eternity is a good alternative too.

IMHO Summit stands the best because it is the smoothest and behaves almost as good as Sync for Reddit did in its prime.

  • Yeah, I find it interesting too…

PSP and Vita handheld this feature better than DS and 3DS yeah, regardless it was a more than welcome future :p

I kinda remember it was a feature in the PS3 too? But you might be right about Xbox One and PS4… Because I remember being lazy turning on my PS3 and knowing it didn’t have many background tasks (like downloading updates and such).

Now that I think about it, some Chinese handhelds (like the Miyoo Mini which uses Linux) do not have the suspend feature (like android handhelds) we are talking about, the workaround for that one is nice though, it actually creates a save state then it turns off the screen and audio for several minutes, then it eventually powers off and when you turn it on it loads again the last game played and quick loads the save state (with Onion OS). I don’t expect something like that coming for PC games, but heck, something must be done lol.
