It’s awesome we’re sticking to daylight savings and not standard!

To add to the other comments, if politics can’t be avoided don’t just deflect personal responsibility. We assume you like us and are “one of the good ones” otherwise you wouldn’t be here. Saying “don’t blame me, I didn’t vote for him” has kind of the same vibe as an American sewing a Canadian flag on their backpack while travelling.
I’m cautiously optimistic. I’m just hoping these housing projects will be targeted towards high cost of living areas and not just where it’s easy. We don’t just want a new megacity in northern Manitoba that would sit empty while technically fulfilling the promise.

They send a lot by tug and barge. Some of the loads you see going up there are quite precarious looking, containers stacked 6+ high with all sorts of “loose” cargo on top, from RVs to excavators to small boats on trailers. It would be a real shame if they had to travel through international waters instead of the nice, sheltered inside passage.

It seems like every time you see “mixed reactions” from a story about BC it’s just the same guy from the restaurant association.

On the flip side, could we as a country or province agree to only accept USD at par? I doubt it would actually benefit us a significant amount, but personally I just hated being in a cashier position and needing to do extra work just for the entitlement of the American tourists to pay in “dollars”.

The small routes are already so heavily subsidized (directly by the government as well as by the the 4 profitable routes) that this won’t make a meaningful difference.

Are you using a satellite phone or something unusual? If you’re on a “big 3” network there are definitely better plans than that.

Whatever they’re doing (or not doing?) now seems to be working. We may be paying more than other countries but I can say my phone bill is lower than it’s ever been since the beginning of the smartphone age and I’m getting way more for those dollars too.
Edit: that being said, I do hear of people paying close to $100 for a phone plan. I don’t know how they just go along with that or what value they think they’re getting but it’s definitely not necessary to spend that much these days.

Yeah, by definition they’ll go along with it. Probably come up with some convoluted reasoning as to how it was the plan all along.

This just reminded me I had an account from years ago. Deleted.

We have our own carbon tax in BC, it has nothing to do with the federal government.

The rest of us really dodged a bullet, look how they treat their own people…
Circadian rhythm is personal, so I don’t know if what the clock says makes as much of a difference as when things are scheduled. And time zones are so wide that being at the extreme east or west of a zone can make more than an hour difference in sunrise/set times anyways.
