I can’t say I blame them tbh I think I would do the same
Just your normal everyday casual software dev. Nothing to see here.
I can’t say I blame them tbh I think I would do the same
ok that makes more sense, thank you
I’ve read this four times now and I can’t comprehend what they’re talking about.
So is this going to lower or raise the price? Because it sounds like they’re advocating torwards being against low prices? I don’t understand
Now that I’ve read it a second time, it sounds like they’re trying to keep the price low and it backfired because now it sounds like they’ve lost market share which is causing the price to recoil downward again?
Ontario had the right idea imo, embargo US goods and then push through the struggles. Sadly it seems they were the only one willing to play hard ball. Everyone else folded like a deck of cards.
I want to add, this was an existing ruling, they just clarified the rule. Every article it seems is using each-others clickbait titles(the linked article even references it in the edit).
The change that they made was that they added a dedicated section to the developer guidelines, where before they only had it on their pricing page.
This rule has been in effect for 5 years now according to steamdb.
If this movement becomes a thing, its about time.
It seems like it’s been over 8 years of this aim high swing low BS where only the democrats are willing to settle for less where the republicans block anything that remotely hurts them, and if they are finally coming to terms that taking the moral high ground doesn’t work when a side isn’t willing to cooperate then good for them. I had lost faith that they actually had the moral compass to allow for it.
they already tried that, it failed 19-20 to get the votes required to subpoena.
Honestly, pay needs to be capped at their current states minimum wage imo.
Being said I also believe that all public positions should be like how the president is. Where everything is paid for by the yearly budget. I also think that all public positions should be isolated from personal finances. You are public position representing the US, you have zero need of accessing anything in your financials. I personally believe all assets should be frozen as soon as you take your seat. (or at the least put into bonds or something)
Yeah but it was more so talking about how when Democrats are in power it’s okay to criticize both Democrat and republicans, however once Republicans are in power you’re not allowed to criticize Republicans because the power stigma shifts.
something that I’ve started noticing as of late as well. If you try to criticize the Republican Party you’ll be met with resistance, arguments and full shutdown leadin to personal attacks, where if you criticize the Democratic Party, they will still disagree with what you say but they’ll at least listen to you.
While I think desalination is the way to go in the long run, I am concerned about the state of Texas being the one to do it. You know corners will be cut every step of the way there. Desalination is still eco unfriendly even when dealt with properly, if you cut those corners the damages can be devastating. The brine created destroys the eco-balance where-ever its spread over even in low amounts. Killing basically everything present. A large scale of such a project might also impact more than just the coastal waters in the gulf, that current gets swept past florida, so this could also be effecting florida’s coastal industry as well.
I’m just waiting for Doctors to start leaving Texas like they have been Florida. Not sure why they would wanna risk their license.
I mean, they posted the other day funding for the same fund between Biden and Trump, they are definitly funneling money in to do this. I think it should be expected at this point, should be looking into how to outlaw it rather than worrying if its going to happen. If it’s legal, it will be abused. The fact that it’s legal in the first place is the issue.
Being said, it goes to say, I believe an anti-trust case still goes through legal provisions, so I think he could just pardon the entire case.
I foresee part of his funding being explicitly for that.
Sadly the US government functions vastly on the honor and trust system, if you have elected officials that aren’t honorary, the system can and will be abused as there isn’t very much actual checks and balances on it for individual cases. The checks and balances existing almost completely skip the supreme court, and the actual positions of power such as the speaker, the VP and the president do not have many checks and balances for the position itself, relying on the branch itself to keep itself in line and once someone that is found untrustworthy is placed into the position, its likely not going to be reverted. It’s very much a “we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing” scenario.
I like this change, I don’t think it will really matter in the long run sadly, not to say it shouldn’t be attempted but, I really think every proactive thing is going to be reversed over the next year or two.
Personally speaking I think all federal offices should be held at federal minimum wage, that way those offices that are doing the voting are impacted by the decisions they are making. It disgust me that they’re making the argument of yes we’re making $174,000 a year but think of our life circumstances, when the federal minimum wage is still $15,000 a year full time.
Or like one other person said, having their cost of living paid for by the government and having the federal minimum wage salary would be okay as well
Yeah this tactic is widely done on both sides, that’s why It was obnoxious when people bitched about how they’re hiding in civilian targets so is really couldn’t get to them and I’m just thinking that’s exactly what Israel is doing as well. Hell if I recall correctly isn’t Israel the one that set up a literal makeshift boot camp inside of a hospital?
I feel like they tried, but they found they couldn’t reduce worker hours more than they already have or else the buisness wouldn’t function. These places already struggle hard to remain open staffing wise as it is. Turns out when you have bare minimal staffing and hours, you can’t cut further.
This article becomes so much clearer, when you realize that nationstates is an online browser based Nation simulator
I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out what information I was missing because I wasn’t pulling it from the article. It keeps talking about government processes and then reiterating steam accounts and Discord alt accounts and I’m like why would any Nation ever care about any of these
it’s all virtual, it’s a game. So much simpler to comprehend now
