I knew this thing was going to flop. It was the same thing with PSVR1, they marketed the shit out of it, released it and then one year later it was basically already forgotten about.

I remember commenting on Reddit at PSVR2 release that I wasn’t falling for it again, and got called a fucking idiot and told I didn’t know what I was talking about blah blah blah. Then they just literally did the same thing again. Like PSVR1. Like Vita. Like their proprietary headphones. Like PS Move. Like PSP (which was a banger). Like PS5 arguably.

It’s pretty hard to read. Journalism is so rough these days, and you don’t even know if you are reading a humans words anymore.

It always booted fast enough (well as fast as computers were then). It was pretty fucking useless though. Dos was still way more useful and efficient in those days.

Anything past 60 is just pissing contest stuff. 99% of games are totally playable at 60fps. 120+fps is great and everything, but if it’s going to cost you 2k to get there, I mean you run your own journey but I’d be fine almost all the time at 60fps.

Honestly my 5800x3d/128gb/4070ti ddr4 setup still just absolutely rips. Undervolted some of the cores way back when and it runs cool and just hammers whatever I throw at it. I used to traditionally do 4 year refreshes, but this builds doing time. I’m not even going to look at it until 2029/2030 now. And at these prices, if they are still like this, I’m all for PC gaming and everything but I’ll be in my late 40s then. I just don’t game as much anymore and the console/PC gap is so big right now for price/performance differences that I might just not even.

Three years down the road, I don’t regret it, let’s put it that way. Yeah it’s not really necessary, but I knew this would happen (not the ram price stuff - the sloppy coding and the gaming world’s ever expanding requirements).

I’m not convinced. I think there’s a decent enough chance that in a couple of years it’ll be the opposite, we’ll all have supercharged Hemi Cuda’s on our desks. Because there’s been a lot of production that’s all been allocated to the AI market, and when that implodes…

Their free games have been largely pretty ignorable for the past year or two anyways. Most notably at Christmas, where they used to shower AAA titles, this year it was mostly crap. It would be fairly remarkable if they removed games from your library, not sure they’d actually want to move forward with that. It would be the for sure death of an already dying platform.

People really don’t appreciate how much that game singlehandedly pushed open world gaming forward. I know it’s not perfect, and it looks sort of dated now, but holy hell did that game really push the bar up.

4 hours is pretty cruel.

I mean I beat that game for the first time, in the first way, when I was ten. But it took me a lot more than 4 hours. Now I could probably do it in two. But only for the Bernard involved endings, and where you can make use of the glitches, like the switch character-pause-freeze Edna in her bedroom.

This person was in jail, literally in jail, because he was blind and he accidentally walked onto someone’s property.

I get what you are saying, I’m not discounting it whatsoever. I mean I’m an accountant, I could talk all day and night about ways to maximize and protect your profits and cash flows.

That said, Nintendo has to be the laziest company from a coding perspective. Their stuff is always the first of the current gens to get jailbroken, and then it’s open season. I think we should have learned by now not to fight piracy like this either, because it’s both inevitable and it’s a terrible look. The smarter companies know how to use it to their advantage. They also don’t always go thermonuclear on their perspective clientele. It’s a rotten look. Make a product that people want to buy and they’ll buy it. If you make shovelware and then price it in the AAAA tiers, I think we all know what’s going to happen…

Wholeheartedly agree. Games these past few years have been big letdowns for the most part. There’s been a couple exceptions, but for the most part it’s been disappointing.

That was…interesting. I’m Canadian, it’s not my place to comment as it has to do with American internal politics. I will say it was an absolute assault on the senses anyways. I’ve never heard a politician lay claim to so many feats, like I think this guy just claimed he’s gone more than all the presidents combined, solved every war and completely solved the economy. That’s quite a bold claim!

After the whole COVID thing, after all this other crap, now the ram, like I’m just not into this scarcity thing anymore. A lot of the games suck, everything’s released pre-alpha, all this pre buy hype and then the delays just to build more hype.

I dunno, call me jaded, but I’m just kind of over it, and I’m struggling to enjoy these newer games as much. I mean dont get me wrong, I love games still, I love computers and tech still (obviously), but I’ve as of late have discovered that I’ve missed so much over the past decade or so. I’ve been having a hoot playing older stuff, and it’s so much more enjoyable. Hence I’m not really caught in the hype as much anymore. My last build is about to hit 2 years old, and honestly it’s probably riding the decade out at this point, if not even longer.
