Something depicts life in African towns that are not wealthy settings or main characters
- I remember seeing one with a woman detective as the main character on Arte long ago. So I did some research: It’s called The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, produced by the BBC and filmed in Botswana. - Thanks!

- Not series, but God Must Be Crazy is an all time classic.
- Not really a series, but who could forget great classic movies such as: - WHO KILLED CAPTAIN ALEX - Uganda’s first action movie and TEEBATUSASULA
- I mean, there’s about 387 million Nollywood and Ghannywood movies set in villages or small towns. - The South African series Trackers is awesome, and has some rural settings. But it’s highly produced drama. - Some episodes of Ultimate Braii Master or Taste of South Africa show less rural settings. - There’s a season of 90 Day Fiance with Baby Girl Lisa and Usman that shows pretty accurate village life.
