Right now the Dems don’t hold any power, it’s the perfect opportunity for the ones who are actually progressive to split and launch another party. That would pull the Overton window to the left.

Only possible argument out there is that Chuck Schumer was somehow worried about the people who were going to have to live without a paycheck until the government was funded . But by giving in and funding the government without making Trump provide some sort of concession to Elon Musk’s role, those people are all at risk anyway, so I don’t know why Chuck chose to capitulate unless he’s being blackmailed or he was bought off 
Or he’s another out-of-touch fool like Biden who imagines it’s just business as usual.
