California’s proposed one-time billionaire wealth tax was trailing in early election returns Wednesday morning, while Prop 42, which would prevent any future similar measures from getting on the ballot, is ahead by over eight points.

Not only did the billionaire tax fail in California, but prop 42, to amend the California constitution to forbid the introduction of taxes on personal property (investment accounts, art) for the wealthy in the future, backed by greaseball Gavin Newsom, seems to have passed.

    Dems have a habit of screwing over progressive candidates and it’s likely that Newsom is going to be the establishment nominee. Plus Dems have a free walk to up the presidency due to Trump’s corruption and betrayals. I could see a President Newsom and Trump sees that too, which is why he takes so many digs at him.

        I’m not advocating for either as much as I’m diagnosing the present party structure and the process by which the democrats choose presidential candidates.

        The democrats control who wins the primary through delegates and can coordinate who drops out to prop up their chosen candidate. That’s how we got Biden. Unless structure of the primary changes, there’s no way to create a fair process that a progressive candidate can win.
