The left need to understand Israel has been a majority rightwing country for over 25 years now.

Supporting Israel and their involvement in US politics, is supporting the international rightwing. Helping the global right into power makes no sense for any leftist party seeking power. It makes no sense for the left internationally.

Nearly three-quarters of Israelis view President Donald Trump as a better-than-average U.S. president for Israel’s interests

…and those Israelis who can afford it, donate to lobby in the US. So we’ve seen a consistent tactical error by the establishment left who fund and support Israel. Democrats funding Israel don’t help Israelis become more left leaning, democrats who fund and support Israeli lobbying are helping boost the rightwing.

Ultimately political solidarity is international. So there’s no reason the global left should be funding the right. It’s political and financial suicide.

[Please note: “International left” and “International right” is not a euphamism for some Jewish conspiracy theory. I’m talking about how leftwing parties/organization should try to fund and protect other leftwing organizations/countries. “International” here means global solidarity with one side/direction of politics or the other.]

So has Connie Chan, and unlike Wiener, she’s not some shitty “moderate” – the fucking last thing this sinking ship needs right now.

Want to know how I know she said that? Because it’s in the subheader of the article we’re talking about.

Connie Chan, endorsed by Nancy Pelosi to succeed her in California, says she will vote to ‘end a genocide in Gaza’.
