Fears grow that loyalists in key states could use critical period when votes are counted to amplify false claims

Election experts have warned Donald Trump’s administration could use the crucial hours and days after November’s midterm elections to disrupt the results after struggling to enforce a crackdown on voting.

With less than six weeks remaining until polls close, and control of US Congress in the balance, the post-election “counting window” is seen as as a particularly vulnerable moment by former US federal government officials.

While the US president’s bid to impose sweeping restrictions on mail-in ballots was rejected by the supreme court earlier this month, there is apprehension that Trump and his allies could use the period while votes are counted to amplify unfounded allegations in a bid to challenge results that don’t go their way.

    The anticipation is stressing me out and I don’t even live in the Untied States. I just know something really bad is going to happen. But what will the really bad thing be and when? Will he somehow cancel the midterms altogether? Will civil war break out? Will violence happen during the elections when ICE is standing guard and harassing minorities? Will people die trying to vote? Will the really bad things be after election day? Will he cheat and republicans win wall to wall? Will democrats win wall to wall and then we have a few weeks of thinking everything is going to be fine and then, bam, another Jan 6 style coup? Can we just get whatever it is overwith?

    I also thought really bad things would happen during the world cup, and it wasn’t quite as bad as I was expecting. Is it possible this won’t be as bad as I think? Is it possible the election will end up being really boring?

    Anyone caught stealing or trying to steal, a US election, with undeniable evidence, should face the strongest penalty for treason, period. Anyone and everyone, all the way up too and including the president of the US. This penalty should be and I believe is death.

    You try to steal a US election, you should be put to death.
