I honestly think your downvotes are because you didn’t explain how these two things are connected. I also just glanced through the Wikipedia article and like…based.

During the speech, Thomas said: “Congress, the White House, Hollywood and Wall Street are owned by Zionists. No question, in my opinion.”[78][81] Thomas defended her comments on December 7, telling Scott Spears of Marion, Ohio radio station WMRN, “I just think that people should be enlightened as to who is in charge of the opinion in this country.”

And then like the ADL cancels her and it’s all just kind of what we’re doing now but 16 years ago before most of us USians knew that Israel was a genocidal fascist state.

The next day, the Anti-Defamation League called for journalism schools and organizations to rescind any honors given to Thomas. The organization said that Thomas had “clearly, unequivocally revealed herself as a vulgar antisemite” in the speech.[83] Wayne State University in Detroit discontinued the Helen Thomas Spirit of Diversity in Media Award, which it had been granting for more than ten years, citing what it called her antisemitic remarks.[78] Thomas objected, saying that “the leaders of Wayne State University have made a mockery of the First Amendment and disgraced their understanding of its inherent freedom of speech and the press.”[84] Asked by the Detroit Free Press how she would respond to people who say she is antisemitic, Thomas responded: ‘I’d say I’m a Semite. What are you talking about?’"

Unless there is something else in the controversy it seems like she spoke the truth about Israel 16 years ago and had her reputation drug through the mud for it. She spoke truth to power and it sure seems like the power tried to crush her for it.

OC, you just gave a very “both sides” sounding example with 0 context for those not already in the know. Some of us are still learning or have brains with the retention of a sieve, provide context and you’ll likely see a more positive response.
