Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) clarified the urgency of the midterms by pointing out that Trump isn’t waiting to steal the midterm election. He is trying to do it right now.

Because of how Trump reacted and tried to overturn the 2020 election that he lost after the fact, some Americans have made the assumption that the president will approach the 2026 midterm election the same way.

2026 isn’t 2020, and Trump has learned a great deal about how to misuse his power to try to rig an election over the last five-plus years. This time, the president is trying to preemptively rig the election in his favor before a single vote is cast.

    They have plans to steal the election. It’s a bag of dirty tricks. We made a list of over a hundred different ways that they are going to try to undermine the right to vote and try to steal the election.

    He talks about some of these plans. It’s a very brief interview so it’s a superficial discussion, but the people saying “no one is doing anything” are very mistaken, going by what Rep. Raskin has to say.
