El-sayed keeps his religion out of his politics as every politician should.

I don’t give two shits if he’s Muslim. Tbh I think better of him because he’s not another christiofascist. He wants us to have decent public services and decent lives; that’s good enough for me.

If he’s honest (and that’s a big if because he’s an American politician gaining traction in a country where anyone too moral gets fucked), then his beliefs (which, ofc, include ethical standards based on the Qur’an and previous messages of the Divine/words of previous prophets) are 100% behind his nice sounding words and prosocial actions. And if he’s not, then he’s using it to gather support, and ofc he doesn’t take God nor Islam seriously.

Christofascism is nothing but the logical conclusion of a “religion”/group of “religions” built on the image of a righteous, anti-imperialist man of the people who asked us to be loving and selfless to please God and avoid Hell, but based around the Paulian doctrines of “Jesus, the man, is God actually and if you believe this then your sins are forgiven automatically; oh, and faith/beliefs and acts are not connected”. What do you think was the faith of those who went from Western Europe to West Asia to colonise during the Crusades? The faith behind the genocidal Anglo Saxon settlers that installed themselves in North America? The faith of those who engaged in transatlantic chattel slavery, in Leopold’s Congo, in dropping nukes twice…? It’s all as expected, and they use this faith as a shield too, somehow…

El-Sayed never campained on anything Islamic and never addressed his religon of Islam during his whole campain. He is pro-capitilism and he wants every $$ to be spent in his state services.
