Bodily autonomy is kind of a big deal, yes. Eating disorders are a hallmark of people that have lost control of their lives, and so seek to control the one thing that is entirely up to them, what goes into their body. They are doing this specifically to bring awareness to the crimes against humanity that this administration is infamous for. In denying them their bodily autonomy, they are also seeking to deny them the opportunity to protest their inhumane conditions, which makes the conditions all the worse. This administration doesn’t see them as human beings, and this is just the latest acknowledgement of it.
