President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court on Monday to allow the administration to move forward with implementing a sweeping executive order aimed at mail voting that lower courts blocked in nearly two dozen states — setting up a major elections dispute at the high court months before the midterms.

In my state we vote 100% by paper mail-in ballot and it is one of the most secure, traceable, and fraud-resistant ways you could possibly do it. And it’s vastly more fair than in person voting for the disabled, elderly, homebound, just to name a few. Repubs will whine about machines not having a proper paper trail and then shit on literally the most auditable, paper-trail-ful possible way of doing things, which is universal mail-in ballots. I’ve never heard one person here, of any political side, say that they’d rather have a touchscreen backed up by god knows what quality of software in a booth someplace they have to drive to on one certain day so they can stand in line for hours and cross their fingers that their vote registers the way they meant it to.
That’s not the point for Trump and Republicans. They know mail-in voting is secure. The issue, for them, is that if voting is made easier in any way they would never win any elections again.
