AI companies make it very clear that any actions or words that are repurposed are solely at the liability of the user, and yet the entire federal government is very comfortable with blaming AI. This makes a good precedence for removing liability protection and killing AI in its tracks.
There’s two possibilities and both are advantageous. One is that AI companies are responsible for the words they spit out. The other is that pentagon higher ups can much more easily be held accountable than lower levels because the decisions to push AI are going to be highly evident through regular communications. This will make it much easier to purge the military back to a moderately functional state.
