    The Falklands are one of the few places in the world were the Europeans settled an actual empty land. The residents of the island, the Falklanders, want to remain part of the UK. Argentina’s only claim is … geographical proximity. There is no colonialism here, only jingoism.

      colonization is about control over extra territorial resources. it does not require indigenous people to exploit.

        hashtag not all colonialism

        that said, the Falklanders are literally the closest thing to an “indigenous” culture on the Falklands, why should a settler-colonial state like Argentina have any claim on their self determination?
