Refusing to release titles to the PC isn’t going to make me run out and purchase a console. There are tons of games on PC. My backlog is long enough that I can live happily without whatever kind of bullshit Nintendo, Sony, and Xbox are trying to peddle. Assuming I did care about a specific title, and it’s being gate locked by console exclusivity, I’ll fucking pirate it. Sony, Microslop, and Nintendo can all get fucked.
I’ve seen way too many times people getting a console because of an exclusive. Now the thing is, we are entering on a very dry hardware season where prices gone to shit (and yes consoles also increased prices), so does Sony really thinks people will be super willing to get an overpriced console on the current economy because of a single exclusive? Sounds like a losing strategy
This one actually bothers me because I was looking forward to Ghost of Yotei, but if Sony are still so allergic to making money, I guess I won’t give them any. Barely a handful of games from an entire generation is certainly not enough to make me buy an overpriced console.
Why? It’s even more generic Ubisoft The Game than what ubisoft has been doing…
Do you enjoy endless open world map markers?
I don’t like all the Checkpoint Charlie bullshit and got fed up with the side content before the main story was over, but the world in Tsushima was so well made that I had a good time in it - far better than AC: Shadows (that I didn’t pay to play, for the record) - and the combat system was fun. Yotei has a character that isn’t forced into the peg hole of a samurai and has a greater selection of weapons so it looks like it’ll be a fun time.
Then they can back away from increased profits.
PC gamers have plenty of other options.
I waited so long for Horizon Zero Dawn that when it came out on PC I wasn’t really interested any more. Probably will pick it up someday, but it turns out you can get by just fine without PS exclusives.
Cool, guess I’ll just emulate them for free then! I was getting kind of tired of giving Sony my money anyways.
I can believe they will try to reinstate PSN account requirements in their existing PC ports again, but I don’t see them losing a revenue stream. Unless Steam alters the deal themselves, that would be unbelievably stupid for Sony.
I’ve been skipping the PS5 versions because the games will run better on my PC, but then the sale prices on the PC versions are so much higher than on PS5 I still haven’t bought any of them.
When they released Stellar Blade with Denuvo, it was an easy decision to skip it. I will normally buy anything that even remotely souls-like, but they can go fuck themselves with that anti-consumer behavior. Then there is the fact that still haven’t released Ghost of Yotei on PC, so whenever they get around to that it will be too little, too late.
