Classic effort reduce government efficiency for the sake of reinforcing narratives about government inefficiency and cutting programs to harvest pensions.

for the sake of reinforcing narratives about government inefficiency

The government is inefficient. And this does need to happen. Way too many fed workers collect fat checks and benefits but don’t do squat. And they get away with it.

Source: I worked in and with fed.

I work with them too and telework vs in-office is not the issue with government in/efficiency. For the most part if we’re anecdoting: the biggest internal slowdowns of government work I ever experienced were from people who were riding out to retirement. Offering lucrative early retirement packages would probably improve efficiency more than returning to the office.

There’s a whole new generation of competant government workers coming online and it has been quite refreshing to see the useless folks that ran shit into the ground slowly drop off into retirement.

Sounds like every private sector job I’ve worked

Fair point! And I agree! But my taxes don’t pay the private sector job paychecks.
