NBC News exit polls from Tuesday’s elections showed voters are deeply worried about pocketbook issues and the direction of the country.

Ahead of Tuesday’s elections, Donald Trump assured Americans that prices are coming down, the economy is picking up and the nation is flourishing in ways that make it the world’s envy.

Voters don’t seem to be buying it.

Democrats swept key races, as exit polls depicted an electorate gripped by fears that the U.S. is careening in the wrong direction, far from Trump’s glowing portrait of a nation ascendant.

But the billionaires have been making record profits!

I wonder how much longer it will take to the masses to finally understand that all that money the billionaires made was stolen from them in the form of underpaid wages, overpriced products, tax credits, subventions, and externalities.

Im going to go out on a limb and say that if 42 million people are on SNAP, maybe the economy isn’t so great…

That’s 42 million (roughly 10% of the population) on it right now. The percentage of Americans who will use it at some point in their life is closer to 50%.

Most of the people I talked to about it when I visited my in-laws in Michigan a week ago were saying that they thought people on SNAP were people that couldn’t be bothered to work… So not everyone has gotten the message yet. Tbf their county is definitely a very red one but it still amazed me how sheltered they were from things. I somehow know more about US politics as a Dutchie then they do. They had no idea that most SNAP recipients are people working minimum wage jobs that can’t get by otherwise due to minimum wage being so little.

Hell, they didn’t even know what the no kings protest was about…

If the average American voter’s days were filled with lavish dinner parties, golfing trips and vacations where famous people gave them golden trinkets, then I could imagine they would think their country is on a good path.

That’s the same problem Biden and the majority of politicians have. The “magnificent 7” are driving the markets up, while the rest are not doing so well. The economy is being fueled by AI hype right now.
