On Thursday night, the president of the Heritage Foundation — the MAGA right’s leading think tank — welcomed an open Nazi into his political coalition. You might think I am exaggerating. I assure you I am not. The Nazi in question here, podcaster Nick Fuentes, has described Adolf Hitler as “really fucking cool” and said “perfidious Jews” must “be given the death penalty” after “we take power.” And on Thursday, Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts released a video defending this person’s inclusion in polite-right politics: describing Fuentes not as a hate-monger to be banished from the decent right, but as a coalition member whose view of Jews-as-evil-traitors should be politely debated.
As bad as this is, and it is bad, we only need to look at Alex Jones and his open acceptance of Fuentes to see that it’s over for the Heritage Foundation. Nick worms his way into favor and now any view left of full out Nazi is too liberal. They have sealed their own fate allowing this Nazi into the fold.
The heritage foundations plan is being implemented more everyday I’d say that they are doing pretty good. I think they were always Nazis the mask is just off now. The divide in the party is over Isreal. Fuentes is an old school Nazi who hates Jews but Tucker is anti Zionism and Isreal funneling money into our politics. While I understand Tucker is wrong on so many issues he’s really not on the issue of Isreal. I don’t think the people in charge are going to mess with Jewish people that are zionists but the ones who are protesting the war are just going to be lumped in with “antifa”. They are Nazis but they are going to prioritize going after brown people and anyone who dissents
HF isn’t going anywhere, despite it being viewed as a Republican think tank most of the legislation written by them has been bipartisan
We will see. I’d love to see them tear themselves apart but I feel like this will only stir them up more. Give a Nazi a megaphone and Trumps stamp of approval and you get more Nazis.
