How. Tell us how to fight back against one of the most highly militarized police forces in the world and the most powerful army in the world? How are normal middle class Americans supposed to fight back against that? I mean I love the fantasy of fighting back, but tell me exactly how to do it. You tell me that and I’ll start doing it.
I’d be willing to bet a decade from now we’ll know that Trump probably cheated in the election and Republicans stole it. If there wasn’t vote manipulation I’d be extremely surprised, knowing what we know about this administration and the people running it. How are we supposed to fight back against a system this fucking rigged?
It’s really fucking easy to sit back in your armchair and call us dumb or lazy for not doing anything about this. I’m sure a lot of us would love to do something about it, so why don’t you tell us how.
Especially when most people have some variation of, “I am going to work myself to death now for a comfortable later” burned into their head from generation after generation of parents.
The, “No Kings” protests basically accomplished nothing beyond a, “neat statistic”, in my opinion.
Most people are tuned out, my worksite has 1000+ people at it, no one is talking about this stuff, ever. I am a bit, most people do not care, do not want to risk doing something or have shit going on in their personal lives that take priority.
Anyone critical should do themselves a favor and watch the 1961 film, “Judgment at Nuremberg”. The USA judges’ servants, when asked if they knew about concentration camps initially denied it. Then, seconds later (paraphrasing), “Even if we did, we are but little people, what could we do?”.
P.S. Down voting doesn’t change stated reality, sorry.
I think the No Kings protests enabled a lot of people to meet the ones who truly represents them and motivated a lot of people to vote in the midterms. We’ve removed Trump from office before and we can do it again.
That said, it takes 67 votes to remove a sitting president and that would mean flipping all 20 Republican seats up for reelection: fat chance in hell. We’ll be on damage control until 2028 at a minimum and come 2032 assholes will have already forgotten the harm again.
Protests are not about a single day changing anything. Ideally that’d be great, but protests require constant work. Georgia (the county) has its citizens protesting in the streets for over 200 days day. Protests bring like minded people together. Those people connect. Make plans. Make arrangements for further protests and so on. It’s not about “winning” a single day. It’s about constant, persistent pressure in the form of protests that may eventually let the people when, if/when a gov’t backs down. I don’t discourage protesting, but I don’t trust this regime to not cart people away in unmarked vans. Again.
Im honestly tired of assholes telling us how to deal with this.
One, if you don’t live here don’t act like you would be all Badass. If you are, by all means, come to America and show us.
Two, realize the vast majority of this country didn’t care in November and still doesn’t care now. You’re not fomenting some revolution with a seriously paltry amount of the population and especially not with the environment you described.
It’s not defeatism- it’s realism. Most people dgaf. That is the current situation.
You, America, are the ones who’ve built a culture of violence and guns and freedom in the name of being able to “deal with this”.
Now you’re not doing jack shit.
So yeah. Assholes are going to abound when hypocrites threaten the entire world with their broken promise to themselves and everyone who they shoved the culture down the throat of before threatening invasion, ruining climate mitigation, killing science, promoting religion, assisting Russia, and demolishing the world economy in acts of economic war.
We haven’t built jack shit. Our parents built this shit, I voted for the left ever since I was able to vote. What do you want me to do go vigilante and start killing people?
You sound like an asshole when you accuse people of doing things they aren’t responsible for.
Tell us how to fight back against one of the most highly militarized police forces in the world and the most powerful army in the world?
Afghani peasants did it. The Iraqis did it. The Vietnamese did it.
You never fight an enemy on their terms. The military control the guns. American civilians control EVERYTHING ELSE. Authorities can only be in one location. Citizens are everywhere.
Organize.
Block roads. Obstruct government and commerce. Hit infrastructure. Dump manure in the streets like the French. Stop garbage pickup. Bring society to its knees.
If those nations I mentioned can do it then surely the “home of the brave” can too.

Thank you! I go to the protests, donate to the causes. We really are fucking helpless and it sucks.
It’s a shitty feeling to know that you’re doing everything you can and still have to watch our country speed run to authoritarian.

The people who like guns so much aren’t the ones opposing Trump. You should take notes, because it’s coming to your country next.
This is such small pp energy.
It’s also incredibly obtuse.

Afghani peasants, the Vietnamese, and Iraqis all had the support of governments.
