    One fucking month ago we, for the first time in human history, cured a genetic disease in a human at the DNA level, using gene editing techniques that fixed a 10-month-old’s liver specifically without altering the rest of his body’s DNA (thus preserving genetic diversity). Are we really going to start fucking genociding people while we stand at the very goddamn cusp of cleanly subduing genetic disorders?? And we’re going to fucking revive measles and polio while we’re at it?

      That’s probably a factor in their moves to bring back child labor, if your serfs keep dropping dead from easily fixed diseases you just need more workers for the mine and problem sorted. It’s both exciting to see the success we’ve had in science and terrifying to think of the future since they’re just straight up running the Nazi playbook again, last time they didn’t have access to CRISPR so things might get a lot worse in the eugenics chapter.

      Their own voter base lacks the critical thinking or self reflection to understand every thing trump admin says they want is going to hurt the base more than then people they were rallied to hate.

      Farmers and manufacturers having tariffs ruin their profits, immigrants being rounded up and deported regardless of their legal status, military veterans having their care gutted and govt jobs eliminated. And all these people say they still endorse him.

      They want to do a Nazi. Basically, find something they can encapsulate as a minority, remove them, and then move in on their assets to sate their loyalist’s hunger. It’s the alternative when these sort of people don’t have a Palestine they can ransack. I can only imagine the amount of corruption between the immigrants being deported and the ICE agents peddling over everything they were forced to leave behind, it probably makes civil forfeiture abuses seem like peanuts now.

      Yeah, they don’t want this to happen. It would kill off their base. I guess it wouldn’t matter once they’re in a permanent officialdom, but if you’re trying to run a democracy, that ain’t working.
