Summary

Rep. Robert Garcia accused Trump of “building himself a private army” by pardoning 1,500 January 6 rioters and allegedly purging FBI agents involved in prosecuting them.

A leaked DOJ memo suggests senior FBI officials were ordered to retire or be fired, with further terminations possible. Trump defended the pardons, calling the rioters “patriots” and victims of injustice.

Democrats warn that Trump is empowering extremist groups and undermining law enforcement.

The fate of FBI officials targeted for removal remains uncertain as Democrats vow to resist the purge.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but DC is entirely under federal jurisdiction, right? Meaning literally every crime committed in DC is eligible for pardon. Really scary when you think about it.
