According to a decision handed down Friday, Congress must approve alterations to the White House: ‘Each President is a temporary tenant, not the owner’
They’ve done this before, haven’t they? Nobody has the balls to do anything about it in the governnent.
After November it might stop, though.
Edit: Insane. They are ruining this iconic American building.

doesn’t look like they’re stopping; every photo i’ve seen shows some progression
A perfect example of how calcified our government has become. It’s not “nimble” enough to solve anything.
The East Wing is destroyed, a new foundation has been poured, tower cranes are assembling load-bearing walls, and now a federal court says this is not acceptable.
The federal court humiliates itself. It’s the same for all of our other problems. It’s deeply horrifying to realize we won’t make it in time for any of the problems we need government to solve.
After seeing the abuse of power from Trump in his first term, 2/3 of Americans either voted for Trump again or just didn’t vote at all.
You’re complaining about “the government”, but this is actually the government people voted for. The government isn’t calcified, people voted for a government that would fuck things up. The government is now fucking things up.
“Efficient as government work” - an idiom as old as time.
So is “The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine”.
