Hypothetically if that happens, and if it were up to me, I wouldn’t kill them. Instead I would take away everything they have and let them work the lowest paying jobs with no healthcare, benefits, legal rights… let them have a taste of the life they have created for billions.
Realistically, I think they’re too dangerous to allow them to just stick around, and most of them have done terrible shit to earn their vast fortunes. Personally, I’m thinking Nuremberg style trials to decide between executions and re-education camps.
The problems is complicated by the fact that a large percentage of people in Western democracies think that they could be a billionaire as well (if only the government, courts got out of the way). They tend to classify themselves as ‘almost rich’ and therefore vote and do whatever it is to protect their ‘really I’m about to be rich’ status. It is not just a few billionaire and maybe a thousand 100Millionaires, it’s the extra 100 Million people that think it applies to them as well.
I don’t think that’s the case, and lumping “western democracies” all into one pile is a mistake. There’s huge variety in how they’re run, from bad to good. Nobody thinks they’re gong to be a billionaire…Unless a big chunk of the population literally has severe mental illness consisting of delusions of grandeur, anyway.
What we do have is a population held by the balls. All of our security is tied to our jobs, and we’re constantly, constantly reminded that our “self reliance” is tied to our worth at the workplace, the social safety net is worthless and those on it constantly mocked and harassed. Lose your job and you lose everything.
Go to a protest and get arrested, miss work? Maybe you get fired. Go to a protest and get maimed or even killed, nothing at all happens to the LEO that does it. Maybe you’re fired or dead. Your family is now missing someone while the press drags your name through the mud. None of the protests have effected change, we’re still headed towards fascism.
So until a protest gets big and bad enough, nothing will happen because we still have everything to risk and nothing to gain. A big bad protest likely means people will die, that’s likely the only way to depose this regime.
If we hung up musk by his plastic surgery disaster-penis, took what his assets were worth (he’s worth nothing as a human), we could have more than a million millionaires, though…

This is what I think when I see a protest getting pushed around. Protesters outnumber the cops xxx to one.
There are enough people that the protesters could hold the cops down, one protester per limb, another to find their cuffs and lock them up while the other dozen keep watch, backup or sing motivational songs!
Then I remember 1312 and the cops would pull out their guns the moment anyone pushed back legitimately
